High-flying military pilots found to have brain lesions
Military aviators who fly at particularly high altitudes have significantly more white matter hyperintensities. Compared to control subjects, the pilots had nearly a fourfold rise in the volume of lesions (375%) and a threefold rise in the number of white matter hyperintensities (295%).
