Lithium may restore cognitive function after radiation

A team of researchers at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden have found that lithium might be the first pharmacological treatment of cognitive late effects in childhood cancer survivors. Lithium works by helping two proteins; Tppp, which helps cells maintain their shape, and GAD65, which helps regulate brain cell communication.
