Adults focus their attention but children notice what adults miss

Two new studies found that when told to focus on one particular item, adults were very good at remembering information, thanks to selective attention. But 4- to 5-year-olds paid attention to everything that was presented to them, allowing them to catch information that grown-ups missed.
